Supplier Code of Conduct
Summary — Plain English
1. Ethical Business Conduct
Suppliers must conduct their business honestly, ethically and in accordance with applicable law. Suppliers must not engage in deceptive, fraudulent or unfair business practices.
2. Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption
Suppliers must comply with the Bribery Act 2010 and all applicable anti-corruption laws. Suppliers must not offer, give, request or accept any bribe, facilitation payment or other improper advantage in connection with the supply of goods or services to MyChurch.Events.
3. Modern Slavery and Forced Labour
Suppliers must not use forced, compulsory, bonded, trafficked or child labour in connection with the supply of goods or services to MyChurch.Events. Suppliers must comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 where applicable and must take reasonable steps to ensure that their own supply chains are free from such practices.
4. Human Rights
Suppliers must respect internationally recognised human rights, including the right to safe working conditions, fair remuneration and freedom from discrimination. Suppliers must not engage in or facilitate human rights abuses.
5. Equality, Dignity and Non-Discrimination
Suppliers must treat all individuals with dignity and respect and must not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, national origin, sex, gender, disability, age, religion or any other protected characteristic.
6. Data Protection and Confidentiality
Suppliers who process personal data on behalf of MyChurch.Events must comply with applicable data protection law, including UK GDPR, and must enter into an appropriate data processing agreement. Suppliers must keep all confidential information belonging to MyChurch.Events confidential and must not use it for any purpose other than fulfilling the supply agreement.
7. Cybersecurity
Suppliers must implement appropriate cybersecurity measures to protect MyChurch.Events data and systems. Suppliers must promptly notify MyChurch.Events of any security incident that may affect MyChurch.Events' data or systems.
8. Safeguarding
Suppliers working in connection with events or services involving children or vulnerable adults must comply with all applicable safeguarding requirements and must maintain appropriate policies and procedures.
9. Environmental Responsibility
Suppliers are encouraged to minimise the environmental impact of their operations and to comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
10. Conflicts of Interest
Suppliers must disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest to MyChurch.Events promptly. Suppliers must not allow personal interests to interfere with their obligations to MyChurch.Events.
11. Gifts and Hospitality
Suppliers must not offer gifts, hospitality or other benefits to MyChurch.Events employees or directors that could reasonably be seen as an attempt to influence business decisions. Modest, infrequent gifts of nominal value may be acceptable but must always be disclosed.
12. Reporting Concerns
Suppliers who become aware of a breach of this code, or of any illegal or unethical conduct in connection with their engagement with MyChurch.Events, should report it promptly to legal@mychurch.events.
13. Consequences of Breach
A material breach of this code may result in termination of the supply agreement, recovery of losses suffered by MyChurch.Events, and referral to the appropriate authorities where the breach involves criminal conduct.
