API Terms of Use

1. API Access Is Permission-Based

Access to any MyChurch.Events application programming interface (API) is not available by default. You must apply for API access and receive written approval from MyChurch.Events. Approval may be withdrawn at any time.

2. Developer Account Requirements

To access the API, you must register a developer account and provide accurate contact and organisation details. You must keep your account information up to date and notify us of any changes promptly.

3. API Keys and Authentication

API access is authenticated via API keys or OAuth tokens issued by MyChurch.Events. You must keep your credentials secure and must not share them with unauthorised parties. You are responsible for all activity conducted using your API credentials.

4. Rate Limits

API usage is subject to rate limits as communicated in the developer documentation. Exceeding rate limits may result in temporary or permanent suspension of API access.

5. Permitted Use

You may use the API only for the purpose approved by MyChurch.Events, in accordance with applicable law, and in a manner that does not compromise the security or integrity of the Platform.

6. Prohibited Use

You must not use the API to:

• Scrape, copy or harvest data from the Platform in bulk or in an unauthorised manner;
• Access, extract or transmit event, organiser or attendee data without a lawful basis;
• Build a competing service using MyChurch.Events data;
• Circumvent access controls, rate limits or security measures;
• Introduce malware, viruses or other harmful code;
• Violate any applicable law or these terms.

7. Data Protection Obligations

If your use of the API involves the processing of personal data, you must comply with UK GDPR and any applicable data protection law. You must enter into a data processing agreement with MyChurch.Events where required.

8. API Changes and Downtime

MyChurch.Events may update, modify, deprecate or discontinue parts of the API at any time. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of material changes. We do not guarantee uninterrupted API availability.

9. Suspension or Revocation of Access

MyChurch.Events may suspend or revoke your API access at any time for breach of these terms, abuse of the API or for any other reason at our discretion.

10. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the API and associated documentation belong to MyChurch.Events Ltd. No licence to our intellectual property is granted beyond what is expressly set out in these terms.

11. Liability

MyChurch.Events is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the API, including interruptions to API availability.
